Serial Stories are How I’m Feeling Right Now

It’s Such a shame that Medium Doesn’t Make Sharing Them Easy

I’ve got into a bit of a groove with writing stories in serial format

I love writing fiction, and although I think of myself as someone who writes short stories, I seem to like a slower plot development, and serialised sagas works for me. With a brief ‘catch up’ at the start of each, I launch into each chapter where I progress the plot, picking up clues dropped in earlier episodes to expand. I’ll drop a hint or two, possibly relevant to the development of my characters or the storyline. I may even tie off a few loose threads.

It’s my discipline to write a new chapter every week, publishing on or around the same day. I hope my kind readers are invested in finding out what happens next. Cliffhangers — yes! It’s important to leave something ‘hanging’ at the end of each episode I post.

But Medium is not designed for serial stories.

It is really hard to follow without missing an episode, I know! I’m a reader too, with plenty of great writers that I admire and follow. I’m forced to look on their profiles to see what they have posted…
